“We are not Human Beings having a Spiritual Experience. We are Spiritual Beings having a Human Experience.”
THE MEANING
While many wonder over existential questions like, ” What is Life?”, “Why am I here?”, ” What is my purpose in this world?”, and such existential questions eventually lead one to what is called existential depression where everything appears meaningless.
Existential depression is a crucial part of the spiritual journey of all human beings. If you’re going through it, I want to assure you that this is a crucial part of your Spiritual Journey too.
You may be somebody who has never read anything about “Spirituality” and happen to fall upon this post but if you are already carrying these questions inside of you, you’re already on your Spiritual Journey, without even being aware of it. Read: What is a Spiritual Awakening
All of these questions and your journey are eventually going to lead you to the realization of
“We are Spiritual Beings havings a Human Experience.”
The point here is not knowing this end or maybe reading about it in some book but the whole point here is about EXPERIENCING THIS JOURNEY.
A better example would be; “there is no point in repeatedly reading about how wonderful the experience of Scuba Diving is, rather the whole joy is in experiencing it.”
No matter how many books one reads, it is the experience that will make you a saint, not the knowledge.
It is very difficult to explain this experience but I can surely lead you to the path that can eventually help you have this experience. You have to do scuba diving by yourself.
I can only give you the directions and the destination and the shortest way to reach your destination but I cannot make you experience it by way of words. You must go out and have the courage to do that by yourself.
HOW TO LEAD ONESELF TO EXPERIENCE THAT WE ARE SPIRITUAL BEINGS
While I can write a book on this, let me give you the very basic, that is the most important to have an Experience of your true Spiritual Nature –
ONE MUST BECOME A SEEKER.
It is important that One leads oneself to becoming a Seeker and not a Believer. All of us have been Believers at some point or the other in our lives..
We have believed in our religion ( that was mainly a default according to the families we were born into ), we have believed in the Gods that our parents taught us to pray to, and we have believed in the culture ( that was again a default of our environment we have been living our lives in ).

To experience our True Spiritual Nature, we must shed all of the beliefs that we have been carrying.
What it really means is that “If Jesus is the Son of God and our guiding light, then I MUST personally experience that He is the guiding light’…
I must not believe it just because my parents told me to. I must seek my own personal experience.
This is because “Beliefs” have a very weak foundation while “Experiences” have a strong foundation and only our own personal experiences have the power to change us.
BELIEFS ARE JUDGEMENTS THAT CARRY NO PERSONAL EXPERIENCE OR VALIDATION.
KNOW-HOW is BELIEFS TURNING INTO PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.
KNOW-HOW TURNS BELIEF INTO FAITH.
When one has personally experienced the presence of God, then come what may, one will never waive from the path that is True. But until the “Beliefs” are mere words taught by a teacher or a parent, they will lead one to doubt the whole path. Read my life story on How I turned from an Atheist to a Knower of God.
This is the most crucial aspect of SPIRITUALITY because when one progresses in meditation ( in the inner journey of the soul ), one needs guidance that can come only if one “knows (not believe)” that one is walking on a True Path. If one’s soul has already started traveling in the inner regions, but the foundation is weak, such a person will fall apart.
CONCLUSION : Spiritual Beings…

BECOME A SEEKER.
SEEK THE ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS.
INCREASE YOUR THIRST, YOUR CURIOSITY.
DO NOT BE SATISFIED UNTIL YOUR SOUL FINDS THE ANSWER SATISFACTORY.
