follow your passion mistakes to avoid

(1) Believe In Yourself

This is the most important. I can’t stress enough on this point.

So many of us believe in the opinions and decisions of parents and our friends more than we believe in our own.

What it really means is that, the universe sends us thoughts, clues, and direction according to our timeline and we get these messages from the universe in the form of intuition or an inner knowledge that lies deep inside within our hearts, and we always know when something is right for us.

But we make a mistake.

We mistake by not listening to this deep inner voice.

Instead, we listen to the thoughts and opinions of our friends or that of our families.

Not that it’s wrong.

It is of course wise to listen to everybody around us.

But it is much wiser to prioritize our own inner voice over all the other voices.

Listen to everybody — but at the end, do only what you finally decide upon doing because that which is meant for you will come to you only when you listen to your own inner voice and not anybody else’s.

Trusting your own inner voice requires courage and self-assurance. It means being true to yourself, understanding your desires, strengths, and weaknesses, and making choices that align with your values and aspirations.

When you are in tune with your inner self, you tap into a wellspring of wisdom and clarity that guides you towards a more authentic and fulfilling life.

So, take a deep breath, listen to the whispers of your heart, and trust in the universe’s guidance.

Embrace the power of self-belief and let your inner voice be the guiding light that illuminates your path towards a life filled with purpose, passion, and authenticity.

Believe in yourself, for within you lies the wisdom of the universe waiting to be unlocked.

(2) Take Expert Advice

While we listen to our inner voice, it is also imperative to take “expert advice” in the field that we are going to step in.

Understand the difference between ‘believing in yourself’ and ‘taking expert advice’. ..

For instance, if you want to run a business and you really believe in yourself that business is the only thing that you wish to do in life .

Now what productive advice could you really get from an uncle who has been working at a general store or from your mother, who though has been handling the house chores very successfully but may not have had any experience in running a business.

They might give you advice but not the one that would be helpful to you if your area of interest does not align with their field of work.

You must take the advice from someone who has already achieved that which you wish to achieve.

So if you want to become a businessman in the line of attire, you must take advice from someone who is already established in the attire business or someone who has achieved the profit target in the attire business that you wish to achieve in next 5 years.

Expert advice can offer you a wealth of knowledge, including strategies to overcome challenges, market trends, potential pitfalls to avoid, and practical tips for sustainable growth.

Learning from those who have walked the path before you can equip you with the tools needed to make informed decisions and navigate your entrepreneurial journey more effectively.

Balancing self-belief with expert advice is a dance of confidence and humility. While you trust your instincts and believe in your vision, you also recognize the wisdom of learning from those who have successfully treaded the path you seek to walk.

Remember that seeking expert advice does not diminish your self-belief or passion for your chosen path; rather, it enhances it.

By amalgamating your self-belief with the knowledge of those who have already succeeded, you create a powerful synergy that propels you closer to your goals.

(3) You Will Need Money To Follow Your Passion

While it may sound fashionable to say that you left everything just to focus and follow your passion, it is only wise to follow your passion but with a realistic plan for success in mind.

Financial preparedness does play a significant role in turning dreams into a thriving reality.

In today’s world, almost every endeavor involves expenses that cannot be overlooked.

Whether you are starting a business, establishing a blog, or launching a startup, certain initial investments are unavoidable. Registering yourself as a legal entity, securing a domain name, purchasing hosting services, and acquiring necessary plugins are just a few among the essential expenditures, particularly in the digital age where websites serve as vital platforms for most businesses.

Then you need capital for the initial investment in your venture.

We all know that no business starts earning profits from Day 1.

It takes time to settle down things. Sometimes just understanding the business or just developing the first product takes 7-9 months even when we’d thought it won’t.

Patience and perseverance are key, as it often takes time for things to settle down and for your efforts to bear fruit. The early stages of a venture can be particularly challenging, and it is not uncommon for several months to elapse before the business begins generating substantial returns.

Once I was interviewing 3 co-founders and they told me how two of them were working on the pilot project but one of them was still doing the job and was responsible for dealing with the initial expenses of the start up as in their initial months they were not earning anything at all.

Developing a sustainable and profitable business model requires time, dedication, and strategic planning. Understanding that the journey to success is seldom linear, and that setbacks and delays are natural occurrences, is crucial for maintaining realistic expectations.

Whether it involves personal savings, financial backing from investors, or alternative sources of income or simply a job hustle to support the venture during its early stages, such planning can be a lifeline in realizing your dreams. It can actually be responsible for either delaying the realization of your passion or sky-rocketing it in the first two years itself!

In the pursuit of our dreams and aspirations, embracing the trifecta of self-belief, expert advice, and financial preparedness serves as a potent formula for success.
