WHAT IS JUJUTSU KAISEN?
Jujutsu Kaisen is a Japanese anime about a boy named ‘Yuji Itadori’, whose body is able to consume and be a host for a very powerful curse called ‘Ryomen Sukuna’. This curse is developed when the bodies of people emanate negative energies in excess. While normally people are not able to control this flow of negative energies from their bodies. Jujutsu Sorcerers are those people who have learned to control the flow of the cursed energy and use it in a better direction.
FROM WHERE DOES THIS STORY ORIGINATE?
Things don’t come out of anywhere unless they have an iota of existence in the world.
Of course, this anime is just a story. But I am talking about the idea.
The idea of the use of energy negatively and positively has been in existence for thousands of years.
IS JUJUTSU A PRACTICE OF THE OCCULT?
Occult involves dark practices like using a voodoo doll to control a real human being. Some people call it black magic and it has gained a very bad reputation because of the way in which it is used.
Time and again, the occult has been used to harm others and for fulfilling one’s selfish motives.
In the real-life Jujutsu, it mainly involves martial arts as developed in Japan. It is a weaponless fight and is fought between the two opponents who use their arms and legs to disable the other and win the game. It is very closely related to wrestling.
Wrestling involves the techniques of powerful takedowns and focuses on intense strength and knockdown techniques. Jujutsu, on the other hand, is a martial arts that involve leverage techniques, articulation, and blood squeezing. (Source)
However, the series Jujutsu Kaisen is of course a fictional story developed by the writer Gege Akutami who included both the concepts of occult along with real-life Jujutsu in the series JJK.
The series Jujutsu Kaisen displays the use of the voodoo dolls for the greater good of killing the negative curses that are responsible for human deaths. So, the voodoo dolls are made for the curses and not the humans in the series.

SO we can conclude that,
The use of energy positively and to defend oneself is called Jujutsu Kaisen. ‘Kaisen’ word itself means good improvement or good change.
Jujutsu Kaisen is for self-defense and used for the greater good while occult (which can also be used for good) has a bad reputation, in that it is mostly used by people to harm others and for their selfish gains and jealousy.

Jujutsu Kaisen requires a basic sense of understanding of the concept of ‘Energy’.
We all are ‘energy’ we studied Science in our schools. But it’s altogether different to really experience that ‘we are energy’.
At present, we know from our textbooks that molecules and atoms are energy and that all beings; trees, animals, humans, everything has energy. But it is very different to experience the same.
Also, the basic concept of the fight between evil and good forms the foundation for our lives. This series uses these two concepts.
So if one is mature enough about the concepts that form the basis of the series, one should watch it for sure. I would recommend it for 16+ years. Both youngsters and adults can enjoy this series.
I personally enjoyed it a lot. It reminds me of our history, the Mahabharat concept in some way, and also, the movie Harry Potter; both of which were about the fight between evil and the good.

WHY YOU MUST WATCH JUJUTSU KAISEN
Jujutsu Kaisen shares great insight into the concept of FEAR. It shows how when the masses feed into the FEAR, it can actually manifest in a big way.
I suppose great learning for all of us here, especially in these times. We all need to raise ourselves and not give in to fear.
We need to understand that ‘our soul is more powerful than the mind’ and we all need to direct our minds and our energies in a positive direction.
The second reason I highly recommend Jujutsu Kaisen would be ANime. Anime is new to India. So I’d like to experience it as well.
What is Anime?
As stated in bark.us, all anime are cartoons but all cartoons are not anime.
So, Anime is specifically designed cartoons that have a touch of Japan in them. One can recognize Anime very easily as it’s unique and identifiable. I say a touch of Japan because now Anime is being designed in other countries too but originally was developed in Japan.
In my childhood, I watched Tom & Jerry. But as I grew up, I stopped watching cartoons.
But lately, some very thoughtful concepts have been included in the animations and I decided that I have to watch them as the content was more important than the animations.
Some other animated movies like SOUL and The Lion King were amazing. Though I had loved it if a few of these movies could be shot with real human actors, that’s okay.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 comes in India at a great time when covid is prevalent. As Jujutsu Kaisen is based on understanding the concept of fear and negative & positive energies, it motivates its viewers to become stronger in their minds and bodies like Itadori in the series.
Itadori is the protagonist character in this series who is very strong in his mind and heart and is learning to become brave each day. Itadori, who had been a normal student all his life learns to fight the evil forces and becomes even stronger than his skilled counterparts.
As God stated in Lucifer, ‘the darker the darkness, the brighter the light.’
I highly recommend this series to anybody who is fighting the darkness in his/her life and is taking steps to come into the light instead.

WHEN IS JUJUTSU KAISEN RELEASING?
Jujutsu Kaisen series was released in 2020 and is available to watch on Netflix. Though there’s a new movie ‘Jujutsu Kaisen 0’ based on this series that is going to be released in India On 17 July 2022.
So if you are going to watch Jujutsu Kaisen 0, I recommend you watch at least the first episode of the Jujutsu Kaisen series on Netflix. This will give you a perspective of the movie and clarify the basis on which the movie is based.
